Meet Cindy
Registered Counselling Therapist - Candidate, Counselling Therapist Calgary & Online
When choosing a counsellor, finding the right fit is a key factor in effective therapy.
Reaching out for support can feel vulnerable and unsettling. Many people aren’t sure what kind of help they need—or whether counselling is the right next step at all.
This page is here to help you decide.
It’s designed to give you a clear sense of how counselling works, what you can expect from working together, and whether this approach aligns with what you’re looking for—so you can move forward with clarity and confidence.
Counselling isn’t one-size-fits-all. The right fit matters.
How I Work
As a Calgary-based counsellor working with adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, major life transitions, and periods of feeling disconnected from themselves.
My approach is warm, practical, and grounded. The rooted belief that counselling should feel supportive and purposeful—where insight leads to real, meaningful change.
Sessions are collaborative and paced to you. We focus on understanding what’s happening beneath the surface while also building tools you can actually use in your day-to-day life.
Clients often describe our work together as:
Supportive, honest, and non-judgmental
Practical and insight-oriented
Encouraging, while still being real and groundedYou don’t need to have everything figured out before starting. You just need to be open to showing up.
Why I Do This Work
Counselling is not about becoming someone new—it’s about finding your way back to yourself.
Like many people, I arrived here with my own lived experience. I understand what it feels like to be overwhelmed, to lose confidence in yourself, to feel disconnected from your sense of purpose, and to wonder how you ended up feeling so far from who you used to be.
Experiencing what it’s like to question your direction, your worth, and your ability to move forward—and I also know that meaningful change is possible.
These experiences have helped shape how I work.
You don’t need fixing. Here, you are supported with space, clarity, and support to reconnect with yourself and move forward in a way that feels steady and aligned.
What Clients Often Experience
Through counselling, many clients begin to:
Feel calmer and more emotionally regulated
Gain confidence and self-trust
Develop healthier coping strategies and boundaries
Improve overall mental and emotional wellbeing
Feel more grounded, capable, and connected
Progress looks different for everyone, but the goal is the same: helping you feel more at home in your own life.
Areas of Focus
-
Anxiety often shows up as overthinking, tension, restlessness, or feeling constantly on edge. Counselling can help you understand anxiety patterns, reduce overwhelm, and feel more in control.
-
Depression can impact mood, motivation, energy, and self-worth. Therapy offers a supportive space to gently explore what’s keeping you stuck and begin rebuilding momentum and clarity.
-
Major life changes or periods of uncertainty can leave you feeling ungrounded, stuck, or disconnected from your sense of direction. Counselling supports clarity, confidence, and intentional growth as you navigate change and reconnect with what matters most.
-
Low self-esteem affects how you relate to yourself, others, and the world around you. Counselling helps you develop a more balanced, compassionate relationship with yourself.
-
Perimenopause and menopause can bring emotional, cognitive, and identity changes that feel confusing or unsettling. Counselling offers support, clarity, and tools to help you navigate this transition with greater ease and self-understanding.
-
Trauma can come from single events or ongoing experiences and may continue to affect emotional regulation, safety, and self-trust. Trauma-informed and Trauma-care counselling supports gentle processing, nervous system regulation, and rebuilding a sense of stability and control.
You don’t need to know exactly what you’re dealing with to start.
We can explore it together and find the right next step.
